SKWAIR
Premiere 2028
In creation
SKWAIR is a 360° circus piece which takes place on a large concrete urban square.
Accompanied by a live jazz and hip-hop ensemble, SKWAIR transforms the asphalt square into a vibrant stage. A symbiosis of movement, sound and audience interaction unfolds. The performers roll by with all kinds of set pieces and means of transportion: an acrobatic go-kart, parkour obstacles, skates, cycles, and wheels.
SKWAIR also includes a outreach preparatory phase, under the subtitles CUISTAX and BEEP.
BEEP
BEEP is a scene within the performance SKWAIR in which a local youth group takes over the stage for ten minutes. Like a flash mob, the young participants emerge from the audience to present their interpretation of the “BEEP choreography” to the public.
The BEEP choreography is created in collaboration with local circus and urban schools.
CUISTAX
CUISTAX is a rolling go-kart equipped with a four-meter-high pole. In the run-up to the performance, this playful apparition moves through the streets of the city. These “pop-up interventions” give a contemporary twist to the circus tradition of announcing its presence in the city by means of a vehicle and loudspeakers.
Through acrobatics CUISTAX warms everyone up to come and experience SKWAIR. It is an ideal tool for reaching a diverse audience and for showing new potential spectators the way to the cultural center or the local festival.
SKWAIR offers a collective experience in which the audience, the scenography, and the performers merge into a singular and distinctive whole.
